1. Global Business Strategies: Create Success In The Global Market

Consider the different aspects of how business is conducted around the world. Various currencies, cultural customs, trade laws, border rules, import/export regulations, and more all come into play in each country (and sometimes within the states or provinces within it). To complicate matters further, these elements are constantly evolving. Add in the rapid pace of change of technology, legal questions surrounding the Internet and e-commerce, and growing security concerns, and you’ve got an extremely complex global marketplace.

This course provides an overview of the various factors that a business must consider before going global. Students will also begin considering how they can expand their business to the global marketplace using a variety of planning techniques. We strongly recommend that participants complete our “Entrepreneurship 101” and “Basic Business Management” programs before taking this course.

2. Business Succession Planning: Developing and Maintaining a Succession Plan: Develop A Succession Plan

Change is a hallmark of today’s business world, especially in terms of the workforce. Succession planning can help you make the most of that change by ensuring that when someone leaves, there is someone ready to take their place.

This course will teach you how to develop and maintain a succession plan with the SUCCESS model, which includes developing a system, identifying resources, creating risk assessments, developing action plans, implementing those plans, and evaluating the results.

3. Basic Business Management: Boot Camp for Business Owners: Learn the Basics of Business Management

Owning a business requires a vision balanced with attention to detail. You need to be a generalist who understands the multiple aspects of running a business, as well as the ability to step back and see the big picture and to reach into the future. This course will give you the basic business management skills that you need for success.

This course will give you all the skills that you need as a new business owner. You’ll learn how to develop your organizational chart, manage operations, speak knowledgeably about finance, hire the right people, build your brand, market your product online and offline, complete a strategic plan and a succession plan, and build your customer base. You’ll also learn the basics of leadership and tips for taking your business to the next level.

4. Business Process Management: Learn How to Manage Business Processes

Business process management helps organizations leverage processes to achieve their goals and be successful. Once processes are implemented, they must be monitored, evaluated, and optimized. This course will introduce you to business process management, which can help your organization successfully perform these activities.

To begin this course, you will learn about business process management and three related skill areas: business analysis, enterprise content management, and business process re-engineering. Then, you will work through the five stages of the business process life cycle: vision, design, modeling, execution, monitoring, and optimization. Tools such as automation, business rules, workflow engines, what-if analysis, process mining, business activity monitoring, the balanced scorecard, Lean, and Six Sigma are also covered.

5. Business Ethics for the Office: Define Your Ethical Framework

What exactly makes a decision ethical? The problem with ethics is that what may seem morally right (or ethical) to one person may seem appalling to another. This course will help you define your ethical framework to make solving ethical dilemmas easier.

In this course, you will learn what the terms ethics, morals, and values mean. Then, you will learn about several different ethical frameworks, including Kohlberg’s six stages, philosophical approaches, personal values, and codes of ethics. You will also learn how to avoid ethical dilemmas, make ethical decisions, handle common ethical dilemmas, and recover from mistakes.
